Thank you for your interest in supporting Blackbird Quarter Midget Race Club, Delaware’s only NASCAR Youth Series Dirt Quarter Midget Track located in New Castle, Delaware.
Dirt Track racing has been a part of Delaware history for many years, with quarter midget racing beginning with a 1/20th dirt track operating in the infield of Airport Speedway from 1985-1989, where our club was born and became known as Blackbird. In 1990, the dedicated Quarter Midget dirt track we now call BQMRC was built in the rear of Airport Speedway and has raced in this location for the past 33 years and counting.
This is a family oriented sport that teaches children not only the love of racing but the value of sportsmanship, teamwork, and community. Our drivers range in ages 5-16 years. Families from all over the tri-state area turn out every weekend, from May-November, to watch these kids race their hearts out. This is a competitive and expensive sport to participate in that includes National and Regional level events, some of which are hosted right here at Blackbird.
